The Fijitsu FI-7140 is a good solid scanner with a twain drive so it supports our software. It can handle around 6,000 pages/day, at 40 pages/minute. It has a feeder capacity of 80 pages with max paper size of 8.5″ x 14″.
A step up from the 7140, the 8170 also has a twain driver but can handle about 9,000 pages/day at 60 pages/minute. The feeder capacity is 80 sheets and max page size is 8.5″ x 14″.
At the top of the line for well-priced Fujitsu scanners you’ll find the FI-7800. This model can handle 120,000 pages/day at 140 pages/minute, so if you’ve got a heavy monthly paper load then this is the model for you. It’s sheet capacity is 500 and max paper size is 12″ x 17″.
The DS-7500 is an affordable starting point. Like the Fuji scanners they have a twain drive, a 40 ppm rate and a feeder capacity of 100 pages, but it really stands out with a max paper size of 8.5″ x 40″. It also has a flatbed scanner for hard-bound books or other odd-sized items up to 8.5″ x 11.7″.
The DS-60000 is a big price jump from the DS-7500 but you get a lot more for your dollar and is great if you’re going to be processing hundreds of pages a month. It’s got a 200 sheet feeder, flatbed scanner and supports page sizes up to 11.7″ x 100″.
